Notice of the Annual General Meeting (2015-16)

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Hindu Society of Ottawa-Carleton will be held on Sunday, April 26th, 2015 at 4:00 pm at the Ottawa Citizen hall, 1101 Baxter Avenue,, Ottawa, ON.

 

The AGM will be followed by refreshments.

Election

As per the amended constitution and the resolution approved in the earlier AGM (April 2012-13), there are seven (7) positions with three years term on the Board. All these positions were elected in the 2013-14 AGM. Dr. Ranga Jahagirdar, Mrs. Mythilli Kalyansundaram, Mrs. Kavita Jain, and Mr. Vasdev Aggarwal were elected for 3 years and Dr Ravinder Jain, Dr. Jayant Pathank, and Mr. Sarvottam Mansakai were elected for 2 years. Hence there is no election for the board this year.

You can send any resolution for consideration by the AGM by April 23rd, 2015. Please note that draft resolutions should be transmitted, duly seconded by another voting member, to the Secretary at least three (3) days before the date of the general meeting at which time they are to be considered.

In case you are unable to attend the AGM but would like to be represented, please complete the enclosed Proxy Form and forward it to us by Saturday, April 18th, 2015.

Members who have donated $100 or more in the year 2014 or at least a month before the AGM in the year 2015 are considered as “eligible” to vote. Non-members are welcome to observe the proceedings.

*In continuation of last year, in memory of Late Mr. Satish Bhatia, HSOC is planning to donate up to $5,000 to Ottawa Hospital Foundation (Kidney Research). Donations as well as pledges are welcome. Please contact any member of EC if you need any assistance in this regard. Make cheques payable to Hindu Society of Ottawa Carleton with clear indication Kidney Research. You are welcome to use the attached Donation Form.
